About

So yeah. Howdy. My name’s Chris Nitchie. I’m a software developer at PTC/Arbortext, specializing in DITA, link management, and various other XML-based content authoring and management technologies. I mostly work in Java, but I’ve got at least a passing acquaintance with other programming languages as well.

I like movies and TV but I’m picky and a bit snobby about which movies and TV I watch. I did a lot of theater in college, and loved it, but it was a little too intense. I miss drama, but I don’t mis the drama, if you know what I mean. I have a weakness for video games, mostly in the single-player story-telling RPG vein. I read a lot but not as much as I would like. The Reading Mood seems to ebb and flow with me. I like junk food and red meat and salty snacks, the artful use of profanity, and staying up too late.

I’ve had a college degree since 1999, this job since 2001, my wife since 2002, my house since 2004, and a son since 2007. I live in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I’m a reasonably happy guy.
